Emphasis in Pre-Art Therapy

Use Art to help People Heal

Art therapy uses a different approach to psychology.

The pre-art therapy major is a great way to combine interest in art-making and psychology to help others. You'll take art foundation courses, a select number of 2D and 3D studio courses and art history courses from the arts program. These courses are paired with courses from the psychology program. Both departments work together to help you gain the experience and education needed to continue on to advanced degrees in art therapy, counseling or social work, for example.
