Medicine Wheel teachings by Napos, Menominee Nation

This is an oral recording of Medicine Wheel teachings by Napos, Menominee Nation. The oral teachings are accompanied by video images and pictures. The oral teachings reflect a traditional First Nations worldview and including teachings on concept of “4” and the Seven Gifts as a way of living in the world. The teachings are specific to the western Great Lakes and the Menominee language is heard throughout the recording.

The Professional Program in Education’s Center for First Nations Studies is grateful to Napos for sharing his teachings on our website. In addition, we acknowledge Stephanie Stevens as the Medicine Wheel teachings project coordinator and artist. Stephanie is a UW Green Bay alum with an undergraduate degree in Humanities with an Emphasis in First Nation Studies and a graduate degree in Leadership in Applied Teaching and Learning with an emphasis in Culture Based Environmental Education.
