How to Use Navigate

The Navigate Student app is fairly intuitive, but below are some instructions that may be helpful.

Appointment Scheduling

You can easily schedule meetings with your academic advisor, success coach or tutor with Navigate.

How to schedule appointments?

Clicking on appointments will give you a list of options for different services around campus. Choose a type of appointment, a reason and a service; then you’ll choose a location and a person you’d like to meet with; then, finally, a time you’d like to meet.

  1. Click “Appointments” under the “Explore” section on your Navigate Student app home screen.
  2. Click “Schedule an Appointment” at the bottom of the screen to schedule a new appointment.
  3. Choose the type of appointment you wish to schedule (e.g. Advising, Multicultural Student Services or Tutoring and Academic Support)
  4. Select the service area under the next drop-down. Select the area most appropriate for the reason for your appointment. This will help you get to the right person/people to assist you.
  5. Set a date. The last drop-down will ask you to set the date for the appointment. Navigate will also give you dates and times available past the set day. When you are done, click the blue "Find Available Time" button to see available appointment times.
  6. Select an available time. Navigate should recognize that your appointment type and will automatically select your assigned advisor. Tap any of the available times in the blue bubbles to set the date and time of your appointment.
  7. Select options. If you scroll down, you will be able to choose how you meet with your advisor and if you would like to receive email and text message reminders. Navigate will also provide details on each meeting option available with your advisor.
  8. Confirm & Schedule. Make sure to review and confirm your choices. After that, tap the blue "Schedule" button at the bottom of the screen.
  9. Check your email! Your appointment is set. Review the email confirmation you receive for any special instructions, such as how to join a virtual appointment.

No times are showing up. Why?

Make sure to check several days into the future in case they are just out of available times this week. If there are still no times available, please contact the advisor directly to ask about availability. It is possible your advisor has not adopted Navigate for appointments and your inquiry may encourage them to begin!

Study Buddies

Study Buddies lets students connect with other students in their class sections who are interested in studying together outside of class. This feature works in both the mobile app and the desktop version.

  1. Click the “Study Buddies” icon to find your study buddies
  2. Check your class sessions and see how many buddies have signed up for your class sections.
  3. Confirm to join the group and share your email address with other students.
  4. Get connected! Look for study partners by directly emailing them!

Progress Reports

Through Progress Reports, or early alerts, UW-Green Bay faculty can indicate whether a student is in need of additional support to complete the course successfully. This effort is designed to help students connect to resources when they can make the biggest difference.

What are Progress Reports based on?

When filling out progress reports, faculty use what they have observed in their classes. This could include course attendance, participation, assignments and/or exams. What is most important to note is that these data points can change quickly, so when you receive a communication related to a Progress Report, it is possible you have already made adjustments to improve your performance.

How to check your Progress Reports

All students can easily check their progress reports through Navigate with a few simple steps:

  1. Log into Navigate.
  2. Select My Docs in the left-hand navigation menu.
  3. Choose progress reports.

I have a progress report, now what?

Now you have an opportunity to get connected! Remember, one of the main reasons the university uses progress reports is to give you enough time to make a change in how you approach your learning—whether it be a major change or just small adjustments. You will receive an email with an action to take, and that is usually the best place to start.
