Site Selection & Timeline
The Site Coordination Committee will oversee the work of selecting a site for the Green Bay NERR. In their role, they will advise a Site Development and Site Evaluation team in completing a series of steps that comprise NOAA's Site Selection and Nomination process.

Site Development
In this first step, the Site Development Committee will review the relevant geography for selecting a site, draft criteria to be used in the site selection process, and identify 3-5 optimal candidate sites for the Green Bay NERR.

Site Nomination & Boundary Delineation
In the second step of the Site Selection process, the Site Evaluation Committee will agree upon a process for applying the site selection criteria. The committee will review the candidate sites and select a final site for nomination. When the State Lead (UW-Green Bay), the Governor's Office, and NOAA agree about the general location of the final site, the Site Nomination Committee will delineate the proposed NERR boundaries. Once a site has been selected, a public meeting will be held with NOAA outlining the proposed site and its boundaries in the vicinity of the site being considered.
