Residual Placement Testing

ALL UW-Green Bay students are required to take the Wisconsin Mathematics Placement Test (WMPT). The only exception is for students who transfer in a college course equivalent to or higher than Math 094, Math 099, Math 100, Busan 220, or Psych 205. Students not able to do Regional Placement Testing in the Spring will take the Residual Placement Test. There are 2 options:

1.
Individual appointments are available upon request. Any student requesting an individual testing date will be charged a proctoring fee of $5.00 per test which will be payable upon testing in the form of exact cash or check. This also provides immediate scoring of your exam. (Non-UWGB students will be charged a fee of $15 per test for Math and English Testing, and $10 for World Language Testing when requesting an individual appointment.)

2. Students have the option of testing online, unproctored, for free, and in the comfort of their own home. (The online platform is closed every year during the month of February so that updates can be made). The website is: https://exams.wisc.edu/placement/regionaltesting/information.php. The math test version we are using is Math Test A (not Test B!) which is free and unproctored. You will need your UW-Green Bay username and password to get registered. Have it available to refer to. If you have lost the information, call the IT Service Desk at 920-465-2309. After you have registered, you'll be able to test immediately, but if problems arise, there may be a delay. When you register for testing online, you will be sent emailed instructions to access all of the placement tests, but you should only access the tests you are advised to take (from above). FOLLOW ALL DIRECTIONS GIVEN TO YOU! **If you choose to test online, please contact your advisor after 7 days to find out what your scores/placement were. We are able to retrieve scores every Friday. If you test by Wednesday PM on any given week, we'll have your scores by that Friday afternoon and your scores/placement will be posted to SIS.

If testing in person, bring photo ID, non-graphing calculator and #2 pencils to test session.

Photo identification REQUIRED! The University of Wisconsin requires students to show a government-issued photo identification document such as driver’s license, state-issued ID or passport when they arrive to take placement tests. Students will not be allowed to test without providing an appropriate photo ID.
