You’ll explore a variety of concepts to become a more confident scientist.
Just like there’s plenty of fish in the sea, there are plenty of fields involved in water science. Embark on a journey through the depths of chemistry, biology, geology, environmental science and more, immersing yourself in disciplines that will expand your horizons and ignite your passion for discovery. At the end of the program, you’ll become a well-rounded scientist with a focus in water.

Research
Both our students and our professors are working on vital research projects to help analyze problems and implement solutions that will help our local region—and beyond—thrive.

Your first job is the hardest to get. Internships can pave the path. Get your foot in the door and improve job prospects when you graduate.
NERR
Like water scientists, the National Estuarine Research Reserve System (NERR) seeks to protect and study estuaries and their coastal wetlands. As the largest freshwater estuary in the world, Green Bay is currently working to become part of the NERR. With this designation, we'll support more research, education, stewardship and training.
Freshwater Collaborative
Through our partnership with Freshwater Collaborative, we can provide more hands-on experiences, internships and research opportunities. Here, you can rethink and revolutionize our world's most important resource.
Choose Your Emphasis
We offer two emphases in the program that allows you to choose the path that's best for you.
General
Earn your bachelor's degree and become qualified to analyze, research and take action to address water quality.
Accelerated
In partnership with our graduate environmental science and policy program, the accelerated water science emphasis gives you the chance to earn up to 12 graduate credits while working toward the water science bachelor's degree.
It Pairs Well
Because your coursework represents a wide array of fields, double majoring or adding a minor just makes sense.
