Applied Biotechnology Graduate Certificates
Invigorate
Your Career
Fully online graduate certificates designed for busy professionals.
Whether you want to transition into the field or boost your career, our graduate certificates in biotechnology provide the training you need to succeed. All three certificates are fully online. Plus, if later you decide you want to earn the full master's degree, your certificate credits count toward the program. Like our master's program, tuition is a flat fee of $875 per credit.

Certificate Options
If you aren't interested in earning a graduate degree at this time, we have three certificates you can earn without committing to the full program: Fundamentals of Biotechnology; Leadership, Ethics and Communication in Biotechnology; and Applied Bioinformatics. If you later decide to complete the full master's degree, the credits you earn in the certificate count.
Fundamentals of Biotechnology
In this certificate, you'll build a strong foundation in biotechnology principles and techniques. From clinical trials to quantitative data analysis to evaluation of data sets and everything in between, this certificate launches you into the field of biotechnology.
Total Credits: 9 credits (Three 3-credit hour courses)
Leadership, Ethics & Communication in Biotechnology
Just knowing the principles of biotechnology isn't enough to be a leader in the field. You also need to know how to be ethical and safe. This core certificate provides training in ethical and safety concerns as well as professional scientific communication.
Total Credits: 9 credits (Three 3-credit hour courses)
Applied Bioinformatics
Learn the practical application of computation and analysis tools to process biological data from research. You'll learn applied statistics, machine learning, data visualization, programming and other techniques that aid in scientific discovery.
Total Credits: 12 credits (Four 3-credit hour courses)
Interested in the graduate program?
Our program is built on certificates, so if you complete one and decide you want to do the full master's degree, the certificate credits count. To complete the degree, you'll need to earn two core certificates, choose a specialized track certificate and complete a capstone.
