Artists in Residence (AIR)

Our Artist in Residence (AIR) program was established through the generosity of Dr. David and Mary Ann Cofrin, and supported by the UW-Green Bay 1923 Fund. Mary Ann Cofrin, the former Mary Ann Harn, fostered a relationship between the Harn Museum of Art on the University of Florida, Gainesville campus and the UW-Green Bay Art Program that became our AIR program.

Our art faculty choose the AIR from a pool of applicants who are recent MFA graduates from the University of Florida School of Art and Art History. Our AIR’s responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining their studio practice in the art building.
  • Teaching two classes each semester.
  • Mounting an exhibition of their artwork in the Lawton Gallery.
  • Giving a presentation on their artwork.
  • Keeping open studio hours to interact with students.

Kobe Elixson (b.1996) is a self-titled drawer invested in understanding his family, fears and fragility through images of fantasy, memory and symbology. Elixson has a great love for the sketchbook and the remembered image, parts of his studio practice which permeates his visual exploration of the mundane, the existential and the hopeful. He has worked as a visiting artist with the arts department at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, IA, and his work has most recently been part of juried exhibitions at The Arts Center of Corpus Christi (Corpus Christi, TX) and the New Grounds/Remarque Print Workshop (Los Ranchos, NM).
