Course Description

It's important in the field of mental health to understand how to support people who are coping with a formal diagnosis of Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD). in this session, you will gain an understanding of the diagnostic criteria for PGD, how it differentiates from diagnosis with overlapping criteria, risk factors for PGD and ways to provide support and tools for coping with PGD.

Erica Srinivasan, PhD

Erica Srinivasan, PhD

Dr. Erica G. Srinivasan is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin—La Crosse, where she also serves as the Director for the Center for Grief and Death Education, and is Co-Chair for the Gerontology Emphasis. Additionally, she is the lead instructor in the University of Wisconsin—Madison’s Grief Support Specialist Certificate Program. She conducts research on loss, grief, dementia, aid-in-dying and death education and has a passion for normalizing conversations about death and grief, which serves as a foundation for all of her professional work.
