College of Health, Education & Social Welfare Programs

Nursing, Teaching,
Social Work & More

Oh my!

A Department of Workforce Development report in May 2022 forecasted a shortage of 20,000 nurses in Wisconsin by 2040. Schools across the state are experiencing a teacher shortage. Wisconsin also has the fifth highest concentration of social workers across the nation, and projects a higher job growth for social workers than the rest of the country through 2030. Through programs in the College of Health, Education and Social Welfare, students are prepared to enter essential careers and redefine what it means to help people.

Brooklyn Simonar

Real-Life
Experience

"UW-Green Bay prepared me for my career as a nurse in many ways but the most significant was the number and variety of real-life experiences they provided for us students. Every semester, we got the opportunity to practice at the simulation center at Aurora BayCare Medical Center and our clinical groups were small which provided us with lots of hands-on practice with patients. Not only were we in the hospital setting, but we got experience in the schools, public health and local clinics."
