Dan Kallgren is an Associate Professor of History and Humanities principally on the UWGB Marinette Campus where he joined the faculty in 1995. He teaches courses in the history of the United States and Western Civilization as well as the Voyageur magazine practicum and the American experience in Vietnam. He has published scholarly work in Historical Geography and College Teaching. His current research focuses on the evolving food retail landscape in Marinette, Wisconsin. Over his career he has been active in university shared governance, serving, among other roles, on the former UW Colleges Senate, UWGB Senate and University Committee, and chaired the former UW Colleges Department of History for 6 years. He is active in community outreach, serving as the chair of the City of Marinette’s Historic Preservation Commission, and as the “Hi-Q Quizmaster” for more than 25 years.
