Welcome to Lifelong Learning Institute!

Who We Are

The Lifelong Learning Institute (LLI) is a friendly member-led program, offering non-credit educational enrichment classes and activities to adults of all ages and all educational backgrounds. There are no educational prerequisites, no grades, no tests, no papers — just learning for the fun of it.

Fall Registration 2020

If you are looking to join LLI.....

The Fall 2020 catalog will be available online HERE on July 27, 2020.
Registration will begin on Monday, August 10.  At that time, you will be able to use the REGISTER NOW button to begin registering and choosing your fall classes.
As you know, due to the COVID-19 health pandemic, our society is being forced to think differently and creatively while we continue to move forward. LLI is no exception to this. Therefore, we thank you for your patience during these uncertain times.

Below are some changes that will be coming this fall, due to the health crisis and other circumstances beyond our control. However, we are confident that we can successfully navigate these changes to create enjoyable and beneficial programming for you moving forward.

Classes Offered Live Online, Recorded and Outdoor

The Board of Directors approved the Curriculum Committee's recommendation to move all of fall semester classes to online, in addition to some outdoor classes.

Online classes will keep our members and presenters safe and offer the added benefit of being accessible whether you are in Green Bay, visiting the grandchildren, snowbirding in the south, or wherever you may be.

What Members are Saying About Online Classes

This April and May, we were able to pilot a few online classes to our members. Here is what they had to say about their experience:

Video presentations are an excellent substitute to an in-class presentation. This is a significant step toward offering the option to attend LLI classes, especially for potential new LLI members that are unable to attend in person, bad weather situations, or situations such as we are currently experiencing.

It was my first time participating in an online class, so I got to learn some new stuff. Great job by everyone. Thanks for all the extra effort.

Thanks so much for making this possible. I am missing my LLI classes so much. This opportunity certainly helps!

How We Will Assist You

Training Sessions & One-on-One Assistance

This summer, current members will receive an email with your link to LLI's online classroom where you will be met by Susan or a member of the online team, who will show you around and work through any issues you may have. Our goal is to connect one-on-one with each LLI member to introduce everyone to the LLI online classroom prior to registration. If you are not yet a member but want to see what online learning is like with LLI, contact the LLI office at LLI@uwgb.edu and we will show you around our online classroom.
Learning Tools
Video and documentation on how to access the LLI online classroom will be emailed  and also be on LLI’s website.
Bonus Class!
We will offer a few online classes in early August before the semester begins that you can take for free to make sure you will have no issues as a member.

Electronic Fall Course Catalog

The Fall Course Catalog will be electronic and posted on our website in advance of our registration window, so you will have ample time to review. We will also offer printable pages to help make your course decisions.

Phasing Out Class Lottery

Our registration software company is moving to a cloud-based platform and can no longer support our lottery management system. Therefore, we will be moving forward without a lottery. There are several benefits to no longer having a lottery, including not having to prioritize your class selections during registration.

LLI is a non-profit program and is part of UW-Green Bay’s Division of Continuing Education and Community Engagement.
