Police-Community Advisory Council

The University Police Advisory Council (UPAC) functions as a diverse and representative group of collaborators for the campus tasked with creating dialog and transformative action in the areas of: community policing responsibilities, issues/concerns regarding service to the campus community, educational and safety-oriented programming, and the use of impartial policies/practices that promote safety for all members of the university community. The UPAC’s charge is to accept, review, and deliberate over concerns voiced by students, faculty, and staff so as to offer the Chief of Police and university leadership input on programs and projects aimed at improving campus safety. It was established as a resource for the Chief of Police’s development of community policing concepts and programs and as a democratic forum for learning about the objectives and practices of the police department.
