2018 Annual Retiree Association Dinner

Our 19th annual Retiree dinner was held October 3 and was another huge success.   We had over 60 attendees and everyone had a great time.  Our speaker for the evening was Sandra (Hackbarth) Martinez.
If you wish to see pictures of this year’s dinner (and those of past years) you can click on Showcase at the left.

Oral History Project

Audio interviews conducted as part of the UW-Green Bay Oral History Project are now available on the web as a searchable database.   http://diglib.uwgb.edu/digital      More than 150 subjects – alumni, faculty, staff, administrators and others – have been interviewed over the last decade, with more to come.

Although more interviews still need to be indexed and loaded, and others await transcription, the site and its search software went live in early fall 2018.   You can enter  a keyword search on a topic of UWGB history to display “hits” that result, and quickly zero in on the precise place in the lengthy transcript and audio recording at which the particular topic was addressed by the particular speaker.

Retiree Volunteer Projects

Deb Anderson, UWGB Archivist, is seeking assistance from UW-Green Bay Retirees for an on-going archival project. Deb needs help preparing 20 folder-filled banker boxes for cataloging of general photos (athletics, soccer, basketball – mid 70s) and faculty/staff photos.

Retiree’s familiarity with UWGB people, places, and events bring a special asset to this project. This is a great chance to provide a valuable service to the Archives and perhaps catch up with a few other retirees. Please contact Deb Anderson (andersod@uwgb.edu) or Jane Rank (rankj@uwgb.edu) if you would like to assist in this project.
