  • A bold, clean design that reflects UW-Green Bay’s visual identity
  • A distinct look from the main website, while still part of the UW-Green Bay aesthetic
  • Improved accessibility and usability for all users and to comply with current standards
  • Responsive formatting that looks great and is easy to use on any device or screen size
  • Creative flexibility through full-site editing with the block editor

Why Use the Block Editor?

Block Editor Animation

The WordPress block editor (also known as Gutenberg) is a powerful, flexible content editing tool that’s here to stay. It replaces the older Classic Editor, offering a better, more intuitive experience for writing, designing and organizing your content.

Block Editor Benefits

  • Drag-and-drop blocks to build layouts visually
  • Insert media, buttons, columns and more—no code needed
  • Reusable content blocks and templates save time
  • Cleaner, more accessible HTML output behind the scenes
  • Future-proof: all major WordPress updates are focused on the block editor

Tip: If you're used to the Classic Editor, give the Block Editor a try. Most users find it easier and more powerful once they get started.

Training Resources

Focus on the block editor rather than the classic editor, as it is the new default and a more modern experience that provides far more features and flexibility for content creation and editing. Learn more about it with these resources and see how the block editor is more powerful, easier to use and better for accessibility.

Plugins

Arguably the most powerful feature of the WordPress platform is its extensive library of plugins, which integrate with WordPress to provide enhancements and extra functionality. While that can be beneficial in many cases, there are plugins that can unfortunately do more harm than good. That's why CampusPress carefully curates and audits a selective list of plugins for use within our network.
