FNED Dissertation Project

Bring It All Together

The dissertation is the culmination of your education.

The First Nations Education Ed.D. is an applied degree. Showcase your hard work and apply what you’ve learned with the dissertation project. In years three and four of the program, you’ll complete of a project that addresses an issue of professional practice or community need. It is unlike a mainstream academic dissertation, in that you work with professionals in their fields and in partnership with communities to create meaningful and impact projects that make a difference in real life.

"Our faculty and cohort are all on the same playing field. We respect each other and tap into our relationships to bring forward the knowledge that we have. We are working with leaders in different fields, and also have elders who come and do teachings for us. So in those spaces, if we bring our respect, we’re able to learn from each other."
