Need-Based Student Aid

The number one reason students do not start or complete their education is because of a lack of funding. Therefore, targeted, need-based financial aid is the most important intervention that can be deployed to address this achievement gap. With 70% of UW-Green Bay alumni living and working in Northeast Wisconsin, an investment in need-based financial aid is an investment in the future workforce for the region.

Water Science Research & National Estuarine Research Reserve

Water is the lifeblood of our region. It’s essential to how we work, how we grow things, how we play and who we are. Water is also one of the greatest resource challenges our planet faces.

Our four coastal campuses and history as Eco U™ make UW-Green Bay uniquely positioned to meet the challenges of water quality and quantity. The national designation for a National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR) facility for the Bay, Lake Michigan, and Lake Huron—only the third such facility on the Great Lakes—is confirmation the University is a proven national leader in freshwater science. A Green Bay NERR will offer a coordinating force to manage, restore and protect the Green Bay estuarine ecosystem, with a programmatic focus on four sectors: research, education, stewardship and training.

First Nations Academic Program Support

UW-Green Bay respects and recognizes the sovereignty and reserved rights of the 565 U.S. tribal nations, 12 of which are located in Wisconsin. Our interdisciplinary, holistic academic program places emphasis on the American Indian oral tradition to share lessons on First Nations culture, philosophy, history and language.

Students also learn about the social and political status of tribal nations, studying the independent jurisdictions and powers of their governments, as well as their economic influence. Tribal nations are the largest employer in eight Wisconsin counties.

The first doctorate degree offered at UW-Green Bay is in First Nations Education and prepares transformational leaders to change institutions and promote the vitality of future generations.

Institute for Women's Leadership

The mission of the Institute for Women's Leadership is twofold. It aims to empower women as leaders while working to fulfill the evolving leadership needs of Wisconsin companies and organizations.

The Institute’s programing focuses on eliminating the barriers that narrow professional opportunities for women by providing access to experts and influential networks. By fostering the growth and development of female leaders, UW-Green Bay will be expanding the talent pool and helping to build strong, equitable community organizations.
