Precious Metals

Catalytic Converters

A device incorporated in the exhaust system of a motor vehicle, containing a catalyst for converting pollutant gases into less harmful ones.

Computer Circuit Boards

A thin rigid board containing an electric circuit. A printed board in a computer that has electrically conductive pathways called ‘traces’ that connects electronic components to each other.

A yellow precious metal, used especially in jewelry and decoration and to guarantee the value of currencies. Recycling gold from jewelry or coins, the process involves evaluating the quality with an acid kit or spectrometer.

Microfilm (silver)

Used for records which need to be kept permanently or for high-quality images.

A rare silvery-white metal resembling platinum commonly found in microprocessors and printed circuit boards.

Photographic Film

A strip or sheet of transparent film base coated on one side with a gelatin emulsion containing microscopically small light-sensitive silver halide crystals.

Photographic Silver

Used in photography because silver is photosensitive. It decomposes and is converted into metallic silver grans when light is incident on it.

A precious silvery-white metal that is used in jewelry, electrical contacts, laboratory equipment, and industrial catalysts.

A hard silvery-white metal of the transition series, typically occurring in association with platinum most commonly found in catalytic converters for cars.

A hard silvery-white metal of the transition series typically found in electrical contact alloys and filaments, in jewelry, in pen nibs, and in instrument pivots.

A precious shiny grayish-white metal sometimes found in silverware, pins, jewelry, and old metals.
