Admissions

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Theatre has an "Open Admissions" policy. There is no audition or interview required to be a Theatre major or minor. As there is no state mandate for Theatre Education in Wisconsin Public Schools, most of our Freshmen have theatre experience but no formal training. We feel that this puts many students at a disadvantage for an entrance audition. The UW-Green Bay Theatre Faculty is committed to providing a professional education to students who are passionate about theatre.

Incoming students must meet the University standards for admission and students then file a formal declaration of major/minor. This declaration of degree program is very important as many Theatre classes have priority registration for Theatre majors and minors. Theatre Academic Advisor Thomas Campbell, campbelt@uwgb.edu is an invaluable resource to prospective, incoming and current students, helping them to develop an academic plan that assures academic requirements are understood and met.

The UWGB Admissions Office offers helpful resources for freshmen. There are specific admission requirements for freshmen and transfer students that want to apply at the university. You can also apply using your computer by filling out an electronic application. The Undergraduate Catalog will provide information about academic programs, facilities, services, and campus life at the university.

Also, be sure to visit the Academic Advising office if you have any questions regarding general education requirements, University procedures/policies, and registration help. Freshman and sophomore students are highly recommended to talk with their academic advisor(s) often. It's not a bad idea to pick a faculty advisor early in your college career also to meet the individual and discuss your future goals and career options.
