Early College Credit Program Orientation

Get Your
Bearings

Completing orientation is necessary for success.

All ECCP students are required to complete an online new student orientation in preparation for their first semester with UW-Green Bay. Students with courses on one of the UW-Green Bay campuses are also required to attend an additional in-person orientation session. Students will be emailed their account and orientation information to their personal or high school email accounts after they are registered.

Orientation Steps

Get Connected

Students will need to create a password for their UW-Green Bay email and our digital learning platform Canvas.

Find Help

Once students access Canvas, they will find an Orientation and Resources Center where they can get support and complete required activities.

Meet in-Person

Students with in-person classes are strongly encouraged to attend an in-person orientation. Online students are welcome as well.

Communications

We will be primarily communicating to students through their UW-Green Bay email, once it is created and set-up, so please make sure to create a bookmark or favorite and check your email often.

Canvas Required Activities

Canvas is a popular learning management system, which offers a relatively seamless interaction between student and instructor, but it is necessary for students to get comfortable with it. To enable this, all new ECCP students are required to complete the following activities in the Orientation and Resources Center:

  • View the Student Orientation Presentation
  • Take a short quiz to ensure they understand the basics. Students are allowed multiple attempts, and the quiz in no way affects enrollment.

The Orientation and Resources Center also provides students with access to academic and mental health support and information about university safety and security and student accessibility services.

Value of In-Person Orientation

When a student comes to a campus location for an in-person orientation, they will not only learn more about ECCP, but they will be given an opportunity to walk their schedule to make sure they know where to park and where their classrooms are. They may also request a student ID card, if interested, and meet other ECCP students, so there are some familiar faces on their first day of class.

Technology Assistance

Setting up an email and Canvas account is not hard, but there are multiple steps, which we walk students through on our Technology Assistance page.
