We welcome back to the Capitol stage, Manitowoc native and Kosloski’s daughter, Emily Kosloski, Los Angeles-based singer and television actress singing “I Dreamed a Dream” and “Bring Him Home” from Les Misérables and Ave Maria by Bach-Gounod and Someone to Watch Over Me by George and Ira Gershwin.
The ensemble also remembers foreign tours to Manitowoc’s Sister City, Kamogawa, Japan, which is celebrating 30 years of friendship, by playing music given to the ensemble, Super Mario Bros. Also in the concert line-up is a medley from the Japanese fantasy film My Neighbor Totoro, which is wildly popular in Japan.

Lakeshore Big Band, 40 Years of Swingin’ Favorites
Friday, April 5, 2024, 7:30 pm
Conductor Paul Sucherman
We polled our band members on their fondest memories of 40 years of performing with us and put together an evening filled with surprises! Sit back and relax as the Lakeshore Big Band, with vocalists Kim Hofmann and Sam Oswald, play some our favorite tunes for you including “Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White,” “Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans?” “Orange Colored Sky” and more!
Lakeshore Wind Ensemble, An American Salute, The Greatest Generation
Saturday, May 4, 2024, 7:30 pm
Conductor Jeremiah Eis
You are invited to the Lakeshore Wind Ensemble’s concert, “An American Salute,” honoring our military with an Armed Forces medley of service songs, including the new Space Force! Mayor Justin Nickels will be a guest narrator for the tribute to each branch of service. Repertoire includes Aaron Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man, big band era selections, vocalist Kim Hofmann’s beautiful rendition of Sound of Music, and music from John Williams’ Hymn to the Fallen, honoring the Manitowoc-built submarine, USS Lagarto.
On December 5th, 2022 the National Park Service announced the designation of Manitowoc, Wisconsin as an American World War II Heritage City due to its vital role in World War II, most notably the production of twenty-eight submarines, which were ordered by the United States Navy for use in the Second World War. Four of the Manitowoc 28, including the USS Lagarto, are on eternal patrol, meaning they were lost during the war. You are invited to a USS Lagarto remembrance ceremony earlier in the day at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum; more details on their website: wisconsinmaritime.org.
