Bachelor of Arts
The Bachelor of Arts degree offers the study of music within a liberal arts framework. This degree presents broad coverage of music rather than heavy concentration on any single element. It is intended for music majors who wish to study music as a part of a liberal arts program irrespective of specific career aspirations.

Bachelor of Music
The Bachelor of Music degree with a minor in education is a degree designed for those students desiring a career in choral, instrumental, or general music education. Students enroll in a rigorous course of musical study with attention focused on both performance and non-performance subjects. In addition, students pursuing a B.M. degree with education certification complete a comprehensive series of music education and general education courses that fully comply with Wisconsin state guidelines for teacher certification. Areas such as conducting, secondary instrument study, classroom strategies, and teaching techniques will be addressed in detail as prospective educators prepare for careers as teachers.
The Bachelor of Music degree with an emphasis in music performance is a degree designed to prepare students for careers as performing artists.

Bachelor of Music-Performance
Students pursuing a performance degree complete a similar course of study in theory, history, applied study, and general education courses as do students pursuing an education credential. Furthermore, performance majors focus increased attention on repertoire, performance techniques, and chamber performance with an additional year of applied lessons.
