Graduate Studies Travel Grants
Graduate Studies Travel Grants support UW-Green Bay degree-seeking graduate students who are presenting research (papers or posters) at conferences or related educational events. that contribute to the enhancement and completion of graduate degrees.
Travel Grant Details
- Maximum award: Up to $250 per student, per year
- Eligible Applicants: UW-Green Bay degree-seeking graduate students
- Funding use: Expenses associated with approved events like conferences
- Allowable expenses: conference registration fees, lodging, meals, travel costs (subject to UW–Green Bay travel policies), other approved expenses directly related to the event
- Expense restrictions: Mileage will not be reimbursed for meetings within the State of Wisconsin. Salary and wages are not permitted.
- Funding is limited and awarded on a rolling basis
Timeline
- Applications must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event or travel start date
- Late applications will not be considered
- Apply early to allow time for direct payment of eligible expenses
- New funding cycle begins annually on July 1
How to Apply
Follow these steps to apply for the Graduate Studies Travel Grant:
- Download and follow the instructions for the Travel Grant Application Form (docx)
- Download and complete the Estimated Budget Form (xlsx)
- Send the information to your faculty advisor with the email subject line of "Travel Grant"
- Your faculty advisor reviews the email and forwards their decision to you or the Office of Graduate Studies
Travel Policy Requirement
Before booking any travel (e.g., airfare, lodging, rental vehicles), students must contact the UW-Green Bay Travel Manager at travel@uwgb.edu. Failure to follow university travel policies may result in denied reimbursement or inability to cover expenses.
