Why Nurse 1-2-1?
Experience life on campus
Students entering the program can enjoy a traditional college experience. You may choose to live on the UW-Green Bay campus for any of the four years of the program. Living on campus is not required. You will enjoy access to the library, sports center, student union, health and tutoring services and all of the other student opportunities even during Years 2 & 3 of the program when your classes will be at NWTC.
Strong RN licensure pass rate
Benefit from receiving your associate degree from NWTC whose students consistently score above the national average on the Registered Nurse licensure exam.
State of the Art Laboratory and Technology
Classroom, lab and simulation instruction, extensive clinical experience at area hospitals, extended care facilities and clinics, and service opportunities all provide hands-on patient care experience that helps to make program graduates prepared for a career in nursing. Nursing labs are state of the art and faculty have extensive backgrounds in healthcare technology applications.
Employers Desire BSN Prepared Nurses
Increasingly employers are looking to hire BSN prepared nurses. Hospitals attaining the highly recognized “Magnet Status” for quality are required to have a high percentage of RNs with a BSN degree. National initiatives, like those of the Institute of Medicine, are advocating for nurses to be BSN prepared as a standard in healthcare. NURSE 1-2-1 provides a high quality path to completing the BSN degree.
Award Winning Faculty & Student Friendly Staff
Our faculty are not only current in the field of nursing, but are recognized by their peers. Many faculty have research published in leading journals on nursing education and practice. Faculty and program staff are available with personalized advising and support for students throughout their entire education experience.
Accreditation
NWTC is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) and UW-Green Bay is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). These two accreditation agencies are recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and provide evidence of the high quality of nursing programs at NWTC and UW-Green Bay, including NURSE 1-2-1.
Cost Competitive Tuition
NURSE 1-2-1 is a very cost competitive program for earning a BSN. The estimated cost for tuition, books and fees for four years in the program is $35,500(excluding campus housing and meal plans). Compare this amount to other BSN degree programs and you will see how it will save you money.
