Transforming Communities from the Inside Out

Now more than ever, people need help understanding the impact that food has on our bodies. Our program will help you bridge the knowledge gap between the foods we consume and helping individuals of all ages live longer, healthier lives. Transform individuals and communities as a dietician nutritionist with a wide range of career options. 

Program Tracks

1) Master of Science Track:
his route is for those interested in continuing their education by obtaining a master’s degree. For instance, those who already have their RD/RDN and a bachelor’s degree.   
The Master of Science track started its first cohort in the Fall 2021 term.

2) Combined RD/RDN and Master of Science Track:
This route is for those interested in completing a master’s degree and the integrated supervised experiential learning that culminates in earning a master’s degree and eligibility to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration Examination for Dietitians to obtain your RD/RDN credential.
The combined RD/RDN track will begin in fall 2022.

With community partners such as the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC), local health departments, The Green Bay Packers, several regional public schools and after school programs, and local food pantries, we're proud to offer students internship opportunities to serve diverse populations.

Nutrition and lifestyle factors are at the heart of both the prevention and treatment of major diseases our populations are dealing with. Our curriculum offers evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle medicine education.

With credit for prior learning, the availability of in-person and online courses, and full or part-time tracks, our master’s curriculum gives flexibility to all learners interested in working in the nutrition field.

Debra Pearson is an Associate Professor and the Chair of the Master of Science in Nutrition and Integrated Health Program at UW-Green Bay, and Adjunct Associate Professor at Medical College of Wisconsin. She received her PhD in Nutritional Sciences from the University of California-Davis. Her fields of interest include nutrigenomics, phytochemicals and heart disease, the effect of agricultural practices on the nutrient profile of foods and she is currently doing research on vitamin D, omega-3 fats and ovarian cancer. She teaches courses in nutrigenomics, advanced nutrient metabolism, life cycle nutrition, biochemistry and culinary medicine. She is passionate about moving the dietetics profession forward in delivering evidence-based integrative, dietary and lifestyle nutrition medicine to improve human health. The Nutrition Science/Dietetics faculty are dedicated to and have earned a reputation for our student focus.
