Counseling

Let's Talk

No matter what you're struggling with, it always helps to get support and talk with someone.

Free and confidential mental health services are available to enrolled students on all four UW-Green Bay campus locations. If you need support or want more information please call the Wellness Center number for your campus as listed below. If you need support outside regular business hours, call or text UW Mental Health Support 24/7 line at 888-531-2142. If you have an emergency, please call 911.

Why Counseling?

The transition to college for the first time or returning to your education can be exciting and also stressful. As you juggle your personal lives and academics it can feel overwhelming. If you need additional support or assistance problem solving a concern please reach out to our Wellness Center team. We are here to provide support for any concern no matter how big or small. Some common reasons people attend counseling are:

  • grief and loss
  • self esteem
  • anxiety
  • panic attacks
  • substance abuse counseling, assessment and referrals
  • suicidal ideation
  • academic matters like test anxiety
  • loneliness
  • gender identity
  • stress
  • self-harm behaviors
  • adjustment issues
  • relationship concerns
  • body dysmorphia
  • Inclusive counseling for LGBTQ+
  • depression
  • family concerns

There is no additional fee for counseling through the Wellness Center on campus. If a student does need services off campus where you would use insurance, a counselor can help you navigate how to find a provider and how to schedule an appointment.
