Cancel Enrollment

A cancellation occurs before the start of the semester, and it means you are not attending UW-Green Bay for the upcoming term. The cancellation process is slightly different for new freshman and new transfer students than it is for current students. Those steps are outlined below.

New Students

First-year and transfer students, this is what you need to know before you cancel:

If You Had Financial Aid

  1. The Financial Aid Office will be notified and your aid will be cancelled for the year.
  2. Financial aid does not transfer. If you wish to be awarded financial aid at another college you must add that college’s school code to your FAFSA.

If You Had Housing

You may submit a request to cancel a current or future application or contract. Cancellation isn't guaranteed. For details and eligibility information, see housing contract terms.

If You Paid for Tuition, Fees, Phlash Cash, Dining, Parking or Books

  1. Tuition/Fees: You will receive a 100% refund in the original format of payment within 2 weeks. Example: if you paid by credit card, your credit card will be refunded.
  2. Phlash Cash Refund: You will receive a refund within 2-4 weeks by submitting the Phlash Cash Refund Request form. Contact the University Ticketing and Information Center (UTIC) for questions at 920-465-2400. There is a $25 administrative fee. For details, see Phlash Cash.
  3. Dining Refunds: You will receive a refund within 2-4 weeks. Contact UTIC for questions at 920-465-2400.
  4. Parking: Contact the Student Billing Office for questions at 920-465-2224.
  5. Books Refund: Stop by or call the bookstore at 920-391-6600 for return policy questions.

If You Are Ready to Cancel

Call 920-465-2111, or submit the official cancellation of admission form. If you wish to return at a later date, you will need to re-apply for admission.

Current Students

Here is what you need to know before you cancel:

If You Had Financial Aid

  1. The Financial Aid Office will be notified and your aid will be cancelled for the year.
  2. Financial aid does not transfer. If you wish to be awarded financial aid at another college you must add that college’s school code to your FAFSA.
  3. Exit counseling instructions for Perkins and Federal Direct Loans will be sent to you via USPS and must be completed. Even if you are attending elsewhere, you’re still exiting UW-Green Bay.
  4. If you are not enrolling half-time elsewhere, repayment begins nine months after last date of attendance for Perkins Loans, and six months after last date of attendance for Federal Direct Loans.

If You Are Ready to Cancel

You can drop all of your classes for the upcoming term in SIS before the term starts. If you are enrolled for future terms and not attending, drop those classes as well. If you have housing you must submit a request to cancel your housing contract.

We encourage you to call 920-465-2111 or stop by Student Services (SS 1100) so we can review the above information with you and process your official cancellation request. If you wish to return at a later date, you will need to re-apply for admission. This process is also in effect if you wish to take a semester off.
