Advanced: Explore the Natural World of UWGB

How can design make exploring the natural world better? In so many ways! We'll design solutions for being out in the field - from tools for measuring or observing to accessories for carrying the essentials. You will get to visit and learn about world-class ecosystems in our backyard and some of the people who study and care for them. A variety of UW-Green Bay staff will show you native and exotic plants, local creeks and their aquatic life, and other exciting wildlife that live here. You will get to know wetlands, prairies, forests, and maybe even an ancient rock outcropping!  Bring back ideas from your afternoon excursions and see what design inspiration they bring. This specialty camp is through collaboration with UWGB Cofrin Center for Biodiversity and will showcase this Center's innovative and expert team.

Advanced: Zombie Prep Academy

The Zombie Apocalypse is coming! And we are not yet prepared. Let's put our heads together and figure out what we'll need to navigate this crisis. We'll use Design Thinking to figure out food, shelter, communications and other essential survival needs. We understand weapons are top-of-mind when Zombie's are involved, but we do not plan to include weapon design as part of the workshop. There are many other creative opportunities that we will explore in our preparations.

Advanced: Einstein Design Inc. + 4-H Games Engineering

This workshop introduces the "Design Thinking" process in a collaborative team environment - building the skills of a professional problem solver and future entrepreneur. The morning portion of the camp will feature programming with Einstein Project, the student will utilize the design process to help fictitious clients and then create, and test prototypes built for their client's needs.   In the afternoon, join Brown County 4-H for hands on fun as we build playable arcade games out of cardboard and other materials. Whether it's an updated version of an old classic or a brand-new game you have created, play your prototype with the other participants, get feedback, make adjustments, and enter it in the final contest for a chance to win a prize.
