What is Community-Engaged Learning?

Community-engaged learning has many names. In other words, the focus of this learning is the student experience and hands-on experience. Some other names you may have heard this called include:

What makes service learning unique?

Service learning, also known as experiential learning, is academic based compared to volunteer experiences that may occur in a community. Service learning incorporates a relationship between the university and the community. In order to achieve a reciprocal relationship, there are certain aspects of that create for successful service-learning.
