Recruitment & Hiring
Recruitment activities are regulated by the UW-Green Bay Policy for Recruitment and Hiring. Below we offer highlights of the overall process. Please contact your HR Talent Partner for more details.
The Process
1. Talent Planning
Whether you are considering backfilling a vacancy, redefine a role, or creating a new position, contact your HR Talent Partner to discuss your plans. When a decision is made to recruit, a good first step is to review the job description for the role.
- Position Descriptions Template
- Faculty Job Posting Template
- Assistant Teaching Professor Job Posting Template
- Standard Job Description Library
2. Authorization forms
Once you are ready to recruit, it is time to request approval to recruit. While the initial approval takes place in BPLogix, most of the recruitment process happens in Workday. Contact your HR Talent Partner for details about the new recruitment process in Workday.
3. From Interviewing to Extending an Offer
- Interview Questions
- Interview List
- Interview Expenses FAQ Sheet
- Authorization to Reimburse Applicant Interview Expenses
- Final Candidate Justification Memo
- Authorization to Extend Offer
4. Pre-Employment Verifications
- I9. In compliance with federal law, the UW-Green Bay verifies the identity and employment authorization of all new employees in the United States. We are legally prohibited from employing individuals who do not provide the required documentation for this verification. UW-Green Bay uses an electronic Form I-9 system to fulfill these requirements. Please note that paper I-9 forms are no longer accepted.
- Background & Reference Checks. The UW System requires criminal background checks for all new hires in positions of trust—particularly those with access to vulnerable populations. The UW System also requires institutions to conduct reference checks to determine if a job finalist has ever engaged in, is under investigation for, or left a job during an investigation involving misconduct, including sexual harassment or violence.
