Gary Zietler

Gary Zietler Grounds Supervisor 3/20/87 Gerhardt J. Zeitler, 86, Green Bay, began his eternal celebration on Saturday evening, May 24, 2008. Gerhardt was born on May 31, 1921 in Pound, WI to the late Arthur and Esther (White) Zeitler. After serving in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II, he returned to marry the former June Rimple on May 18, 1943. She preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 1969. At age 66, Gerhardt retired from his position as Grounds Supervisor for UW-Green Bay. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 363, Denmark, and a member and former officer of New Horizons. He was also one of the original volunteers for Bellin (now Unity) Hospice. Gerhardt was kind, loving and soft-spoken man who rarely raised his voice and could get his point across with very few words. He always had a twinkle in his eye and would readily tell his life story to anyone.
